The S3000 is back and improved, but still in its unique beastly look. 


The NEW S3000MKII by Edifier has all the features of its predecessor the S3000Pro, and a lot more. Still boasting that 256RMS watts output power but now with a better audio and bluetooth chip. 

That’s not all, the S3000MKII is now supported by the Edifier Connex app and this is truly a game changer but we will get the details and controls of the app a bit later. 


First, let’s take a detailed look at what’s changed in the design.

Design and Build


When it comes to aesthetics, both the S3000MKII and S3000Pro have a similar design, featuring a classic wooden finish that gives them a premium look. They are both built with high-quality materials, ensuring durability and a sleek aesthetic. While both models have a similar aesthetic, the S3000MKII has some refinements in its build quality, making it slightly more robust and durable. Looking at the design, doesn’t look like anything has changed visually, but take another look.


Sound Quality


The S3000MKII also offers impressive sound quality, with similar components to the S3000Pro. However, it uses the Texas instruments and XMOS XU216 chips.

ConneX app:

I really appreciate the convenience the Edifier Connex app brings to the table. Edifier understands the frustration of losing a remote control, whether the kids went swimming with it or the family dog had it for lunch, the Connex app has all the remote’s features and more.

APP SUPPORT WITH THE EDIFIER Connex app
Once you connect the speakers to the app, you don’t need to use the remote anymore because everything that you do with the remote is also possible with the app. So, the app not only offers basic controls like pause, play, skip music, and volume control, but it also gives you access to its EQ controls. 

The Connex app allows you to customize a speaker sound profile, whether you want it to be the default profile, a vocal-focused profile, or even a dynamic profile, the dynamic profile is my personal preferred profile as it does give a much fuller sound experience. And of course, you can create your own custom sound profile by adjusting the frequency sliders on the app. Another noteworthy feature of the app is that you can select which connection you want to use for the speakers. You can switch between Bluetooth and other various wired connections by simply selecting them through the app.

I know this article is based on the S3000MKII, but I just feel that this system is not complete without the SS03 sand fillable speaker stands.
