The Edifier R980T was a popular choice among audiophiles and casual listeners alike. Edifier has introduced its successor, the R990BT. As you know, the R980T had the looks and the sound signature but did not own bluetooth connectivity or a remote control as this system was a budget friendly sound option. The R990BT is still our budget friendly friend and now with bluetooth connectivity, but still no remote. I look forward to the day when everything is application supported. Think about it, we take our devices with us wherever we go. Some people take their devices to the toilet with them, imagine if you had an app that flushes for you😂. Nope, that’s going too far. Talking about app support, the R990BT is supported by the Edifier Connex app, no need for a remote control. The Connex app provides so much more convenience than a remote anyway, we will dive into the Connex control details later in this article.

The speakers are housed in an MDF enclosure, which minimizes acoustic resonance and distortion, ensuring a pure audio experience. Sound Performance
One of the standout features of the R990BT is its impressive sound quality. Each speaker is equipped with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter and a 4-inch long-throw mid-low driver. The digital amplifier provides a total output power of 24W RMS, enough to fill a medium-sized room with high-quality sound.
